Arch Manning Is A BIG Problem for EA Sports
Good News: We Have A "Drip" Update for CFB 25
It’s been quite a week for CFB 25 news and it is only Tuesday! 😜
As we like to say, you better have your head on a swivel, because the news has been coming fast and furious.
A VERY big thank you to the 936 new subscribers to the Hit Stick Newsletter in the past 4 days!
Let’s get into it!
🚨Arch Manning Is A BIG Problem
This is going to be a MAJOR issue for CFB 26.
90% of the players completed the opt-in within 1 week because they wanted to be in CFB 25 when it debuts in July.
This is an exciting time for the players, but what happens when the novelty of the new game fades?
What happens when the star running back at a mid-level school decides he wants $10K to be in CFB 26 and 30 teammates join him?
We are essentially looking at the potential for unions to develop and put everything at risk once again. Think this is far-fetched? Dartmouth basketball just voted today to form the first union in college sports.
We could list 100 questions that all state the same purpose. CFB 25 is going to be great because almost everyone played along.
CFB 26 will be a VERY different story.
Next year we will have a large contingent of players hold out for more money. EA Sports College Football is no different than any other NIL-based opportunity. The top players want a piece of the pie.
How EA Sports can maneuver through this gauntlet will ultimately determine the future success of the game.
We mentioned last week how the slippery slope of paying Travis Hunter and other players for Instagram posts was just the beginning. Arch Manning took that to another level very quickly by simply opting out.
💧We Have Some Drip Updates!
We finally have an update on some equipment and potential drip options for CFB 25.
Vicis and Schutt announced that their helmets will be in the game. Vicis went as far as to mention the helmet types, for which we provided a screenshot below.
Riddell speed flex helmets are in the game as well.
